Current status. Synonym of Badister (s.str.) thoracicus Wiedemann, 1823: 57

Remarks. Comparison of the type of Badister thoracicus Wiedemann, 1823 (deposited in Zoological Museum of the University of Copenhagen, ZMUC) with the types of Badister (s.str.) indicus Anichtchenko, 2012, revealed no characters outside the range of intraspecific variation and establishes Badister (s. str.) indicus Anichtchenko, 2012 (new synonymy) as a junior synonym of Badister thoracicus . B. thoracicus was described from one male collected in Bengalia.
