Type-species: Diplosynapsis argentifascia Enderlein, 1914 (orig. des.).

Diagnosis. Vein R 4 ends on R1 and, consequently, cell r2+3 is closed; vein R5 ending at or slightly behind the apex; short stump vein (supernumerary crossvein) on R4, not reaching the base of vein R2+3 (Figs. 5, 13, 23, 28, 39, 61, 69) and anatergite with or without setae.

Distribution. Venezuela, Colombia, French Guiana, Brazil (Amazonas, ParĂ¡ and Rio de Janeiro) (Figs. 75, 76).
