Leucophenga sinupenis sp. nov.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to L. retihirta sp. nov. in the thorax nearly entirely dark brown, but can be distinguished from the latter by having the aedeagus slightly concaved distoventrally, round apically, with pubescence distally (Fig. 37 D); the paramere lack pubescence, with 11 sensilla medially (Fig. 37 C).

Description. Ocellar triangle dark brown, with 2–3 setae above ocellar setae. Frons brown. Pedicel yellowish brown; first flagellomere yellow. Clypeus brown. Palpus brownish yellow, brownish at tip. Mesonotum and pleura dark brown (Fig. 9 C). Postpronotal lobe brownish (Fig. 9 H). Acrostichal setulae in 10–12 irregular rows (Fig. 9 H). Scutellum dark brown, yellow at tip (Fig. 9 H). Wing (Fig. 4 B): Costal vein between R2+3 and R4+5 distally with 5–8 peg-like spinules on ventral surface. Abdominal tergites brown to dark brown, with yellow patches (Fig. 12 D–F), but medially yellowish to brown on 2nd and 3rd tergites in male (Fig. 12 D, E). Male terminalia: Epandrium nearly entirely pubescent, with 2 setae near posterior and ventral margin per side (Fig. 37 A).

Measurements. BL = 3.13 mm in holotype (range in 4♂ and 5♀ paratypes: 2.73–3.40 mm in ♂, 2.47–3.33 mm in ♀), THL = 1.47 mm (1.30–1.57 mm in ♂, 1.33–1.53 mm in ♀), WL = 3.27 mm (2.50–3.33 mm in ♂, 2.40–2.93 mm in ♀), WW = 1.32 mm (1.17–1.52 mm in ♂, 1.15–1.45 mm in ♀), arb = 6/3 (6–7/3), avd = 0.79 (0.69–0.96), adf = 1.60 (1.50–1.87), flw = 1.53 (1.56–1.88), FW/HW = 0.40 (0.33–0.39), ch/o = 0.05 (0.04–0.06), prorb = 0.67 (0.52–0.62), rcorb = 0.83 (0.60–0.74), vb = 0.42 (0.38–0.53), dcl = 0.48 (0.33–0.58), presctl = 0.53 (0.49–0.54), sctl = 1.39 (1.24–1.45), sterno = 0.88 (0.74–0.92), orbito = 2.00 (1.64–2.22), dcp = 0.27 (0.24–0.41), sctlp = 1.07 (0.92–1.08), C = 1.55 (1.53–1.82), 4c = 1.76 (1.45–1.90), 4v = 2.18 (1.82–2.47), 5x = 1.10 (0.83–1.05), ac = 3.33 (2.33–3.60), M = 0.65 (0.55–0.68), C3F = 0.83 (0.64–0.81).

Distribution. China (Sichuan, Yunnan, Xizang).

Etymology. A combination of the Latin words “ sinus ” (= curved) + “ penis ” (= aedeagus), referring to the aedeagus curved distally.
