Type:— INDIA. Uttaranchal state, Uttarkashi district, Western Himalaya, valley of upper Bhagirathi River, between Choibasa and Bhojbasa. 3700–3850 m a.s.l., 30°54′ N 79°03′ E, 2 October 2003, Pimenov & Kljuykov 16 (holotype: MW barcode MW0593935!; isotypes: LE!, B!) .

Distribution and ecology:— The species is known only from the type locality in northwest India (Fig. 3). The plant grows at comparatively gentle, stony slopes and gravel valley terraces, insparse petrophyton among Spiraea arcuata, Lonicera rupicola, Juniperus squarrosa and Rosa spp. or shrubs at elevations of 3600–3850 m a.s.l.
