= Pabstiella menegattii Chiron & Tesch (2016: 199), syn nov.

Type:— BRAZIL. Espírito Santo: Alfredo Chaves, Alto Maravilha, propiedade do senhor Menegatti, 1000 m, Chiron 16001, F. Tesch s.n (holotype: MBML)

Taxonomic note:— When Pabstiella menegattii was described, it was compared with Pabstiella melior Luer & Toscano (2011: 374) and P. decurva in the diagnosis. Pabstiella melior is clearly a different species, as it lacks leaves with verruculose surfaces, in addition to other significant differences in the flowers. However, the same cannot be said for P. decurva, where only variations in the length of the ramicauls and in the proportions and colors of the floral parts were used to differentiate it from P. menegattii . Some of these observations are not very precise (such as the proportion of the length of the lip compared to the petals) and could be considered as natural intraspecific variations. Furthermore, there are no differences in the shapes or textures of both the vegetative and reproductive portions. Therefore, there is no morphological evidence to support P. menegattii as a different species.
