[ nuba]

Tachina nuba Wiedemann, 1830: 296 . Type locality: Sudan [“Nubien”].

Wohlfahrtia nuba: Verves (1985: 304, 306, key; 328–329, redescriptions of male and female, biology, faunistics, figs 313: male terminalia, lateral view, 314: female terminalia, posterior view); Shanghai Institute of Entomology Academia Sinica (1992: 87; checklist); Deng et al. (2006: 49–51, redescription of male, figs 1–5: male head, anterior view, terminalia and abdomen, dorsal view).

Chinese specimens examined. None.

Distribution. Oriental and Palaearctic regions.

Remarks. Specimens of Wohlfahrtia nuba were intercepted by the Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau from inside an airplane cabin. The plane had departed from Luxemburg with cargo to Pudong airport, and loaded further cargo in Azerbaijan (Deng et al. 2006). This is evidently an accidental introduction and the species is not to be considered as part of the Chinese fauna .
