Distribution. CHINA: Heilongjiang (Da Hinggan Ling), Liaoning (Dandong), Neimenggu (Alxa, Eastern Urad, Xilin Gol), Ningxia (Jingyuan), Shandong (Jinan), Xinjiang (Aerjin Shan, Ruoqiang); Nearctic, Oriental and Palaearctic regions.

Remarks. The male terminalia of W. vigil are reminiscent of those of W. atra . Considering the variation in the abdominal color pattern of W. vigil, from distinct spots to almost completely unicolorous black (e.g., Verves 1982, fig. 326), a taxonomic revision specifically focusing on these two species is required.
