Type (lectotype designated by Burdet et al. 1981: 546):—[SPAIN. Málaga], “Sª de la Nieve”, [September]-1837, E. Boissier s.n. [David Ravey, Pablo Prolongo and F. Haenseler (see note below)] (G barcode G00047732! “le lectotype est le rameau de droite sur la feuille munie de l’étiquette a” [the lectotype is the right branch on the sheet with the label a]) (Fig. 2).

Note:According to the protologue (see also Boissier 1839-1845, and González Bueno 2010) the lectotype was collected in 1837 in: “Sierra Bermeja, Estepona” (Boissier 1839-1845(vol. 2): 585) or “Sierra de la Nieve” [according to the protologue: perhaps in Yunquera (Boissier 1839-1845(vol. 2): 585)], on 15 May [according to Boissier (1839-1845(vol. 1): 51, 55) and González Bueno (2010: 9) for the material collected in Sierra Bermeja, Estepona] and September [according to the protologue for the material collected in “Sierra de la Nieve” (Yunquera?), see also Boissier (1839- 1845(vol. 1): 155) and González Bueno (2010: 9, 13)]. This material was collected by E. Boissier [according to the protologue and Boissier (1839-1845, 1: 41, 51, 155) and González Bueno (2010)], together with David Ravey and Antonio (in the collection on 15 May), and David Ravey, Pablo Prolongo & F. Haenseler (in the collection on September).
