R e c o g n i t i o n: The species is unique by a dense and coarse punctation of mesosoma in combination with a medially largely interrupted band on T1.
D i s t r i b u t i o n: Southern Central and Southern Europe to Central Asia, southwards to Israel and Jordan, one doubtful record from Algeria before 1898 (see PULAWSKI 1973).
