TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Wuzhishan, Wuzhi Shan, alt. 1400 m, 16 December 1921, F. A. McClure 2005 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 8598) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00025113 image!) .

McClure 8598 was the only gathering cited in the protologue of the name Oreocharis flavida Merr. (Merrill, 1922a) . However, the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen exists in A is 2005, while its herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 8598. Thus, the collecting number cited in the protologue is to be corrected.
