49. Rubus tsangii Merr.

TYPE:— CHINA. Guangdong: Zengcheng, Nankun Shan, 15 April 1932, W. T. Tsang 20246 (holotype: NY 00429720 image!; isotype: A 00040756 image!) .

The name Rubus tsangii Merr. was validly published with only one gathering “ W. T. Tsang 20242 ” in NY cited in the protologue (Merrill, 1934a), but no specimen with this collecting number exists in NY. However, a specimen of W. T. Tsang 20246 with the author’s written lable was annotated as “ TYPE OF: Rubus tsangii Merr. ” and matches all other details in the protologue. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number in the protologue is to be corrected.
