Diagnosis. The males of this species resemble those of E. panache, but can be distinguished by the straight, anteriorly pointed distal part of embolus (vs curved and transversely pointed in E. panache) (cf. Figs 9B, 13A with Figs 12B, 13C). The females can be distinguished from all Echinax species by: 1) carapace without radial stripes and with long median Y-shaped stripe (Fig. 8C); 2) the dorsum of abdomen with cardiac pattern (Fig. 8C); and 3) the ventral abdomen with cardiac pattern (Fig. 8D).
