Type:— CHINA. Xizang: Gautsa to Phari Drong (Gyangze to Pagri), north of Yadong, approximately 28°53’N, 89°33’E, 3650–4350 m, 13 August 1938, Gould 1452 (holotype K000979325!) .

Distribution: —U Yarlung Zangbo, M Yarlung Zangbo.

Note: — Epilobium gouldii is endemic to the Pan-Himalaya region. This species is similar to E. royleanum, but can be distinguished by its strigillose lines along the stem.
