Type:— NEPAL. Pura: near Muktianth, approximately 28°49′ N, 83°53′ E, 3650 m, at edge of field, 29 July 1954, Stainton, Sykes & Williams 2089 (holotype BM000957930!) .

Distribution: —C Nepal.

Note: — Epilobium staintonii has serrulate leaves, and 4-lobed stigma. Its leaf is similar with that of E. palustre . They differ from stigma. The stigma of E, staintonii is 4-lobed, while that of E. palustre is entire.
