Lectotype (designated by Boufford 1982):— INDIA. Himachal Pradesh: Kotgarh, J. Royle s.n. (LIV).
= Circaea × hybrida Handel-Mazzetti (1933: 605) .
Type:— CHINA. Yunnan: Mekong-Salwin-Kette, Schattige Gebüsche, 2730 m, 1914, G. Forrest 13254 (E) (Handel-Mazzetti 1933).
Distribution: —W Nepal, S Hengduan, N Hengduan.
Note: —It’s the most distinctive species in Circaea with densely spreading pubescence on stems and absence of an exserted nectary in the flower (Boufford 1982). Although Handel-Mazzetti (1933) stated in the protologue that the type of Circaea × hybrida is stored in E, we are not sure if there are duplicate sheets, and we cannot determine the type status by now.
