Distribution. This species is known from Europe (including Bulgaria (Raitchev (1986)), North Africa, Canary Islands, Madeira, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Turkey, Caucasus, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. This species has also been recorded from Canada and USA (Herman 2001) where it was introduced. The citations for the Oriental Region, Korea and Japan are due to misidentifications.
