Etymology: from Ceylon, adjective.

Notes: The name Philaenus pallidus (Melichar, 1903) could not be preserved under ICZN article 23.9 since the senior homonym was used as a valid subspecies name after 1899 and the junior homonym was not used as valid in 25 works, published by at least 10 authors.
