Macaroblatta, subgen. nov.

Etymology. The name of the subgenus refers to the distribution of its species on the northern Macaronesian islands.

Type species. Dziriblatta (Macaroblatta) dendroglandulosa, spec. nov.

Apart from the species listed above numerous new species from various islands to be described.

Diagnosis. Males well characterized by the left paraproct bearing two strong spines, the short transversely cut supraanal plate with variously shaped posterior border, and the shape of S9 with its right border in longitudinal orientation.

Distribution. Northern Macaronesian Islands: Canaries, Madeira, Azores (Fig. 27).
