Description. The species has been adequately described and illustrated (as Penthikocleptes australicus) by Miller (1958), the followings are additions:
Measurements (of holotype male of the junior synonym P. australicus first, followed by of a non-type female): Body length 8.9, 8.2; maximum width 2.52, 2.17. Length of head 1.88, 1.74, width across eyes 1.04, 1.08, interocular space 0.56, 0.52, interocellar space 0.40, 0.35, eye-ocellar space 0.12, 0.11, eye length 0.48, 0.46, eye width 0.26, 0.28. Lengths of antennal segments: [all segments missing in holotype], I, 2.19, II, 1.23, III, 0.87, IV, 1.76. Pronotum median length 1.60, 1.63, width posterior margin 2.00, 1.96. Scutellum length 0.72, 0.83, width 0.96, 1.00. Length hemelytra 5.40, 4.99; length corium 3.42, 3.53; width membrane 1.80, 1.67.
Distribution. Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales.
Type material examined. Reduvius aspericollis: Syntype ♀, “ Typus ”, “Nov. Holl.?Cumming”, “2633”, “ aspericollis Stål ”, “Zool. Mus. Berlin”. Left mid and hind legs, antenna except left basal segment missing; NHMB. Penthikocleptes australicus: Holotype ♂, Cent. Queensland, Carnarvon, Australia, 29.v.1954, T.E. Woodward; NHML.
Additional specimens examined. “Austral. Coll. Signoret”, “ aspericollis det Stål”, “ Gminatus ”, “Coll.
