Material examined. Holotype (MNHN 6134) and 4 paratypes (MNHN 6135). 14 specimens in 3 lots from Vanuatu, 42 specimens in 13 lots from the Solomon Islands.
Distribution. Previously reported from Vanuatu (Sirenko 2001), the new records expand the distribution within Vanuatu (658–900 m) and also add records from the Solomon Islands (454 m, 640–1313 m). Found living and feeding on sunken terrestrial plant remains.
Remarks. The distribution of L. vanbellei is very similar to that of L. thandari .
