Hexapanopeus paulensis Rathbun, 1930: 395, pl. 170 figs. 5–6.

Material examined. 1 female (CW 8.88 × 7.44 CL mm), station SDN30, 13.i.2021 (CCDB 7461) .

Geographic distribution. Western Atlantic— USA (South Carolina to Florida), Gulf of Mexico, Brazil (Pará, Maranhão, Ceará, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Santa Catarina), and Uruguay (Coelho & Ramos 1972; Abele & Kim 1986; Spivak 1997; Vieira et al. 1998; Coelho et al. 2008; Felder et al. 2009; Mendonça et al. 2019; Mantelatto et al. 2020).

Remarks. This is the first record of Hexapanopeus paulensis from the Espírito Santo state. The values of the BLAST query cover (> 92%) and percent identity (> 98%) were suitable for its identification, since our sequences aligned with other of the same species (Schubart et al. 2000a; Thoma et al. 2009).
