Described from Mozambique and further recorded from Burundi, Liberia, Nigeria and Uganda. The holotype male is in good condition, but has one wing missing.

Puparium 4.2mm in length, 1.0mm in greatest breadth, dirty yellow, tubular, shining; mandibular sclerite (Plate 4, Fig. 20); anterior spiracles transverse in orientation, situated on anterolateral corners of dorsal emergence flap; posterior spiracles with the usual 3 respiratory slits uncoloured and unraised.

The Ugandan specimen bearing Laboulbeniales on wing and abdomen was examined by Dr W. Rossi (Università degli Studi dell'Aquila, Italy), who states the fungus to be clearly related to Laboulbenia pachylophi Thaxter.
