Platycephala rugosa (Nartshuk, 1964)

Eurina rugosa Nartshuk, 1964: 322

Described from Kazakhstan and recorded from Iran this species has the hind femur narrower than is usual amongst species of Platycephala . The larva develops in Phragmites australis . At my request Dr. Nartshuk kindly dissected a female rugosa and found it to be monoovariolate. The male terminalia as figured in the original description and later by Andersson (1977: 128) are very similar to those of scapularum .
