Diagnosis. This species has the fore wings in the males narrower compared to A. flavescens and A. costipunctalis The ground colour is light brown or light yellow. Valvae in the male genitalia are rectangular; aedeagus short, cornutus plate-like, covered with numerous minute spines. Tympanal organs with a median sclerotization in zona glabra tympani; rami tympani slightly bent inwards.

Description. Ground colour light brown or light yellow. Fore wings more narrow and more elongate than A. flavescens and A. costipunctalis .

Male genitalia. Uncus short and narrow; valva rectangular, aedeagus short, cornutus plate-like covered with numerous minute spines.

Female genitalia. Papilla anales more sclerotized than in the two former species; apophyses strongly sclerotized, well developed, long; the intersegmental membrane between the papillae anales and the 8th sclerite bear a zone, near the base of the apophyses posteriores, covered with minute spines. This zone is absent in A. flavescens, A. costipunctalis and A. typicota .

Tympanal organs. Zona glabra tympani with a median longitudinal sclerotization, rami tympani slightly bent inwards.

Wing span. 22–28 mm.

Distribution. Malawi and Congo (DRC): Shaba province.

Life cycle. Unknown.
