Type species. Troglopedetes albus Joseph, 1872: 180

Diagnosis of genus. Ant. IV subdivided and devoid of apical bulb (Fig. 2A); eyes 0–3 per side; labral papilla absent (Fig. 2E); body dorsal macrochaetotaxy oligochaetotic; head central region with 0–7 mac or mic (A3, M1–2, S2–3 and S5–6) and posteriorly with 2–4 mac (Pa2–3, Pm3, Pp3) (Fig. 2D). Th II with 1 (a5) anterior, 0–2 median (m2, m4) and 6 posterior (P3 complex) mac. Th III with 3 mac (p2–3 complex) plus a4 mac present or absent (Fig. 3A). Abd I–III with 0, 1 (m3) and 1 (m3) central mac (Fig. 3B). Abd IV with 2 to 4 (A5, Si, B4–5) central mac (Fig. 3C), rarely 5 or 6. Th II–Abd V with ms and sens formula 1, 0| 1, 0, 1(0), 0, 0 and 1, 1 | 0, 1, 1, +, 2, respectively; Abd IV with 3 (T2, T4, D3p) bothriotricha (Fig. 3). Male with circinate genital plate. Dens with 1 or 2 rows of dorsal spines, outer row with spine-like mac ciliate, inner row with conical spines gently ciliate (Fig. 5E).
