Chonocephalus digitalis Borgmeier, 1967: 207 (part). Syn. nov.
I have slide mounted the holotype female and allotype male, which were caught in copula. I have examined a further 8 paratype males of this species. The holotype of C. digitalis has proved to be conspecific with C. americanus . I therefore formally propose the synonymy of C. digitalis with C. americanus . Four paratypes of C. digitalis proved to be C. heymonsi (see below). Indeed Borgmeier’s (1967) Fig. 20 of the hypopygium of C. digitalis is in fact C. heymonsi .

Holotype male of C. digitalis, Malaya, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and paratype male, Selangor, N. Klang Rantau Panjang (USNM 2664). Also recorded from every other Biogeographic Region except the Palaearctic.
