Uroptychus uncifer (A. Milne-Edwards, 1880)

Uroptychus uncifer has been reported previously as Diptychus uncifer (see Baba et al. 2008) and the published range is throughout the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico in depths of 155 to 490 m (Milne-Edwards 1880; Benedict 1901; Chace 1942). Only one ovigerous female (CW = 5.2 mm) and three males were observed from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico in depths from 368 to 480 m.
