Munidopsis platirostris (A. Milne-Edwards & Bouvier, 1894)

Munidopsis platirostris has previously been reported as Orophorhynchus platirostris (Baba et al. 2008), from the Caribbean in depths of 183 to 860 m (Milne-Edwards & Bouvier 1894; Campos et al. 2005). Five specimens were available from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean in depths of 91 to 585 m; specimens were collected in January, February, and July. Three males, one non-ovigerous female and one ovigerous female were present in collections; only one male was measured (CW = 5.1 mm).
