Ecology. On Acropora palmata .

Distribution. Costa Rica, Guadeloupe, Mexico, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, St. Martin / St. Maarten, Venezuela (Archipielago de Los Roques: Marcus & Marcus 1967a; Work 1969; Ortea et al. 1996).

Remarks. Specimens from Dos Mosquises, Los Roques (Venezuela) were used in the original description of this species, where the type locality was not specified. Venezuela is the southern limit of the distribution of this species.
