Lima et al., 2009: p. 130–133, figs 7–8 ( South–West Atlantic, off coast of Brazil, Campos Basin, 1050–1350 m, silt-clay), males and female. Body cuticle with faint striation not easily detected. Ventral pore just posterior to the buccal cavity, ventral gland cell body at the level of cardia. Tail with anterior portion rounded and clearly set apart from distal filliform cylindrical part. Caudal glands present, spinneret long, representing 12.9% of tail length. Monorchic. No precloacal papilla present.

Syringolaimus venustus Bussau, 1993 nom. n., sp. inq.

Bussau, 1993: p. 505–507, Abb. 218 ( South–East Pacific, Peru Basin, 4100–4200 m, dark brown ooze with manganese nodules), female and juveniles. Body cuticle extremely finely annulated. Metanemes not found. Amphidial fovea 25% of the corresponding body width in female. Neither ventral pore nor ventral gland cell body found. Spinneret evident but no caudal glands found.
