Distribution: South-western Pacific. Peru (Bürger, 1896) and Chile (Bürger, 1896; Isler, 1900; Friedrich, 1970; Thiel & Norenburg, 2009; present study).

Remarks: Thiel & Norenburg (2009: 377) placed Baseodiscus platei (Bürger, 1896) in the synonym list of Baseodiscus aureus (Bürger, 1896) with uncertainty. It remains to be determined whether B. platei is distinct from B. aureus .
