Material examined. BRAZIL: Amazonas: Manaus, Fazenda Experimental, Universidade Federal do Amazonas, km 38, BR-174, 02°38'55.80"S, 60°03'09.40"W: 3 Ƌ, no date, leg. E.P. Franken & A.C.K. Silva (INPA) ; Pará: Oriximiná, Floresta Estadual do Trombetas, Rio Acapu (along about 25 km on the North margin, between 01°06'10.10"S, 56°26'04.00"W and 01°07'30.50"S, 56°19'05.50"W): 40 Ƌ, 34 ♀, 10–18.X.2014, leg. M.B. Aguiar- Neto et al. (MPEG 31951–31977, 32009, 32010).

Note. The palp of the male from Manaus used in the molecular study by Zhang & Maddison (2015) looks slightly different from our drawing, especially the embolus, probably because it was expanded in that specimen. The specimens listed above from the same locality in Manaus have palps that agree with the one described here.

Diagnosis. The male differs from those of other species by having a nearly straight embolus emerging distally at a sclerotized area and forming an obtuse angle with the prolateral portion of its base (Figs 5, 8); with no projection on tegular shoulder (where the sperm duct folds back after entering the tegulum), and simple, ventrally curved RTA (Fig. 6). The female is similar to that of S. elongatulus sp. nov. by sharing the thin initial portion of the copulatory duct leading to a large spermatheca (Figs 11, 36), but can be recognized for having the coupling pocket divided into two triangular pockets (Figs 9‒10).

Redescription. Male (MPEG 32010). Total length: 3.02. Carapace dark brown, with cephalic area black and light metallic sheen (Fig. 1); 1.71 long, 1.35 wide, 1.00 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.95 long; anterior eye row 1.31 wide, posterior 1.09 wide. Chelicera, labium, endite and sternum dark brown (Fig. 2). Palp dark brown, tibia with low ventral bump, triangular RTA pointing ventrally (Fig. 6), and round prolateral distal bump (Fig. 7); cymbium proximally with depression near the RTA. Legs 1342; I‒III with femora, patellae, tibiae and metatarsi brown and tarsi yellow (brighter in leg I); IV with femur, patella and tibia brown, metatarsus and tarsus yellowish. Length of leg I 3.73 (1.26 + 1.50 + 0.97); II 2.90 (0.95 + 1.07 + 0.88); III 3.70 (1.26 + 1.28 + 1.16); IV 3.28 (0.95 + 1.07 + 1.26). Abdomen dorsally dark brown with two pairs of white areas covered with white scales, one on anterior part and second in middle (Fig. 1); laterally with median pair of such light areas; dark brown ventrally (Fig. 2). Spinnerets dark brown.

Female (MPEG 32009). Total length: 3.82. Carapace yellow, with cephalic region black (Fig. 3); 1.97 long, 1.16 wide, 0.86 high. Ocular quadrangle 0.78 long; anterior eye row 1.14 wide, posterior 0.95 wide. Chelicera, labium, endite, sternum and palp yellow (Fig. 4). Legs 2431; I‒II yellow; III: femur yellow, distally dark brown, patella dark brown, tibia proximally dark brown and distally yellow, metatarsus and tarsus yellow (Fig. 3); IV: femur proximally yellow, distally dark brown, patella with same pattern, tibia and metatarsus proximally dark brown and distally yellow, tarsus yellow (Fig. 3). Length of leg I 3.14 (1.05 + 1.31 + 0.78); II 2.46 (0.78 + 0.90 + 0.78); III 3.21 (1.14 + 1.07 + 1.00); IV 3.26 (1.00 + 1.07 + 1.19). Abdomen as in male, with pattern less conspicuous; yellow ventrally (Fig. 4). Epigynal plate with pair of median copulatory openings in front of split coupling pockets (Fig. 9); internally with glands on initial portion of copulatory duct and long thin duct leading to bean-shaped spermatheca, from which the fertilization duct emerges dorsally (Figs 10‒11). Spinnerets light brown.

Distribution. Known from Suriname and Brazil (Amazonas, Pará).
