RHINOBATIDAE
Glaucostegus halavi (Forsskål, 1775), was erroneously recorded by Vinciguerra (1884) in the Gulf of Tunis (see Quignard & Capapé, 1971). Tortonese (1951) reported the species from the Mediterranean coast of Egypt but it was not confirmed by Ben Tuvia (1966). More recently a single specimen was recorded from south Tunisia (Ben Souissi et al., 2007) but it was considered doubtful by Bradai et al., 2010).
