Type Locality: Lima, Lima, Peru.

Paratype female with labels: (1) handwritten on white paper: “ Lima | I. 24 [1924]”; (2) printed on pink paper: “PARATIPO”; (3) printed on white paper: “20.239”; (4) handwritten on white paper: “ Messiasia | lanei, n.sp. | d’Andretta. 1951 ”.

Preservation: Pinned; specimen intact with undissected terminalia.
