Genus Nelcyndana Distant, 1906

Nelcyndana Distant, 1906: 139 . Type species: Tibicen (Nelcynda) tener Stål, 1870 .

Remarks. The genus Nelcyndana has been placed in the tribe Taphurini (e.g., Chou et al. 1997), but this genus is allied to Cicadetta Amyot, the type genus of Cicadettini, considering the similarities in the male genitalia, especially the presence of a well-developed median lobe on the uncus. Nelcyndana is here transferred to the tribe Cicadettini .
