Redescription. Length 4.3–4.9 mm, width 1.6–1.9 mm. General color (Figs 2 A–2C) yellowish brown; antennae blackish brown; hypomera, metathoracic ventrites, and abdomen dark brown; frons, vertex, pronotum, and elytra metallic green. Vertex with reticulate microsculpture. Antennae filiform in males (Fig. 3A), antennomeres III–X apically curved, length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.3: 0.9: 1.3: 1.4: 1.3: 1.4: 1.4: 1.3: 1.2: 1.4, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 3.0: 1.1: 2.8: 4.0: 4.9: 4.4: 4.7: 4.6: 5.3: 5.2: 5.7; much shorter and slender in females (Fig. 3B), antennomeres III–X straight, length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.4: 0.6: 0.9: 1.0: 0.9: 0.9: 0.9: 0.8: 0.8: 0.9, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 3.4: 1.8: 2.9: 5.0: 4.8: 4.7: 4.8: 4.5: 4.1: 4.4: 4.1. Pronotum transverse, 1.4x wider than long, disc with reticulate microsculpture, dense, coarse punctures, and one pair of lateral depressions; lateral margin basally narrowed; apical and basal margins subtruncate. Elytra elongate and parallel-sided, 1.8x longer than wide; disc with reticulate microsculpture, dense, coarse punctures, arranged into longitudinal rows, without or with weak longitudinal ridges between longitudinal rows of punctures. Apical margin of abdominal ventrite V in females rounded but slightly depressed at sides (Fig. 3H). Tarsomeres I of front legs swollen in males (Fig. 3I), subparallel in females (Fig. 3J). Penis (Figs 3 C–3E) slender, 8.5x longer than wide; apex lanceolate, with median, shallow, narrow notch, parallel-sided; tectum extremely elongate from apical 1/10 to middle, apically narrowed; straight in lateral view, slightly curved near base; triangular sclerites small; internal sac with one elongate, short endophallic sclerite complex, 0.6x as long as penis, apical piece apically narrowed, basal piece much longer (1.6x) than apical sclerite, dorsal sclerite elongate, apex acute and curved in lateral view. Gonocoxae (Fig. 3F) elongate, slightly broadened subapically, connected from basal 1/3 to apical 1/3; apices narrowly rounded, each gonocoxa with eight setae along outer margin from apex to apical 1/6; with one pair of short lateral processes at basal 2/5. Ventrite VIII (Fig. 3G) longitudinal and well sclerotized; disc with several long setae at sides, and with dense, short setae along apical margin; spiculum extremely slender. Receptacle of spermatheca (Fig. 3K) strongly swollen; pump slender and strongly curved; proximal spermathecal duct deeply inserted into receptacle, broad and short.

Food plants. Unknown.

Diagnosis. Theopea aureoviridis adults are similar to those of T. collaris in color and presence of extremely coarse punctures on the elytra. They can be distinguished by the absence of longitudinal ridges on the elytra and the metallic green vertex and pronotum (Figs 2 A–2C) (distinct longitudinal ridges on the elytra and the yellowish brown vertex and pronotum in T. collaris (Figs 2 D–2H)). Males of T. aureoviridis have bifurcate apices of the penis and a single hook-like dorsal sclerite (Figs 3 C–3F) which shared with most of Taiwanese species, but T. collaris is characterized by the truncate, oblique apex of the penis and paired dorsal sclerites (Figs 7 C–7F).

Distribution. Japan: Ryukyus (Okinawa, Iriomote, and Ishigaki islands).
