Note: Latreille (1825) proposed this genus under the French vernacular name Amfimalle. Stephens (1830) incorrectly spelt Amphimallon as “ Amphimalla ”, Mulsant (1842) incorrectly spelt Amphimallon as “ Amphimallus ”, and Agassiz (1846) incorrectly spelt Amphimallon as “ Amphimallum ”.
