Dichomeris loxonoma Meyrick, 1937 — Exotic Microlepidoptera, 5 (3–5), 123.
Type material. Holotype ♂ (abdomen missing), [DR Congo] Musée du Congo, Eala, i.1936, J. Ghesquière, 2087 | Holotype, D. loxonoma | R. Det. DD 3258 | Dichomeris loxonoma M. (RMCA).
Remarks. Dichomeris loxonoma was described based on two males collected in Eala. One male (without abdomen) labelled “ holotype ” is deposited in RMCA, the second male “ paratype ” is deposited in Natural History Museum, London, UK (NHMUK). The species is characterized externally by light brown forewing with black maculate markings along costa, a black oblique streak and a brown spot in cell. Dichomeris exsecta (Meyrick, 1927) from Zimbabwe is similar externally but the black oblique streak is divided in separate spots in this species.
Distribution. DR Congo: Équateur Province.
