• Desert, semi-arid to arid plains, grassland, steppe, and shrubland; from sea level to 4800 m.

• 3 genera, 6 species (including 3 domestic), 9 taxa.

• 1 subspecies Critically Endangered, 1 subspecies Endangered; none Extinct since 1600.
