Anilocra abudefdufi Williams and Williams, 1981

Material Examined: CNCR­20402; number of specimens: 2; SM station; collection date: 16/10/98.

Type locality: Nalunega, San Blas Islands, Panama.

Distribution: This species occurs in Panama and Colombia (Williams & Williams, 1981; Kensley & Schotte, 1989, 2000).

Range extension: This is the first record for the Gulf of Mexico at SM inlet, Tamulipas State, Mexico.

Remarks: Anilocra abudefdufi has previously only been reported from Panama and Colombia as a parasite of the sergeant major Abudefduf saxatilis (Linaeaus), attached beneath the eye of the host (Williams & Williams, 1981).

The salinity and temperature ranges measured at the site were 24 to 26 %o and 27 to 28 °C, respectively.
