Host and locality in Australia: Sula bassana and other species of Sula, Australia (Trouessart 1887; Canestrini & Kramer 1899; Rainbow 1906).

Current name of host: The record of the Northern Gannet, Morus bassanus (Linnaeus, 1758) in Australia must be an error since this species only occurs in the Holarctic Region. It may refer to some other unidentified species of Gannet (genus Morus) or Booby (genus Sula) ( Pelecaniformes: Sulidae).
