Host and locality in Australia: Glyciphila fasciata, Australia (Trouessart 1885c; Canestrini & Kramer 1899; Rainbow 1906; Cleland 1922).

Current name of host: Bar-breasted Honeyeater, Ramsayornis fasciatus (Gould, 1843) ( Passeriformes: Meliphagidae).

Notes: Gaud & Atyeo (1982b, 1996a) reported that the mites in the genus Protalges are restricted to hummingbirds ( Trochilidae) which do not occur in Australia, and that identification is here corrected.
