Comments. Calycomyza hyptidis is an oligophagous species, associated with several Lamiaceae genera. Larvae form irregular, star-shaped mines, with frass deposited in the center. Adults can be easily differentiated from other species of this genus by the characteristic shape of the aedeagus.
