Type data

♂ lectotype, ♀ paralectotype, herein designated (ICZN Art. 74.7.3), MNRJ 5314 (examined), from BRAZIL [Mato Grosso], ‘ Xingú ’.

Rationale of the new generic assignment. The type species of Cynorta was redescribed recently (Kury et al. 2007) and similarities in the shape of the dorsal scutum, armature and colouration pattern with Neocynorta m-inscripta allow its recognition as a member of the genus Cynorta .
