Distribution. Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, and Surinam (Thomas 1992; Grazia et al. 2015).

Comments. According to Thomas (1992), P. nigrispinus can be recognized by the dark bifid humeral angles contrasting with the pale and rugulose anterolateral margins of pronotum This species is widespread (Grazia et al. 1985) and show potential in controlling populations of phytophagous insects (Grazia et al. 2015).
