Type locality. Bismarckburg, Togo.
Distribution. Guinea, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Togo, Cameroon, Sudan (Beier 1968; Giglio-Tos 1916; Prost & Roy 1986; Werner 1912).

Remarks. Ischnomantis is mainly a Sahelian genus. I. werneri is distinguished from the more northerly I. gigas (Saussure 1870) by smaller body size and the lack of an “eye-spot” on the alae. New Ivorian record.
