Psectrosciara serrata Cook, 1958: 594 (female, figs. spermatheca, terminalia). Type–locality: U.S.A., Texas, Los Fresnos. Remarks. There is a previous report of P. serrata for the northern part of Mexico (State of Tamaulipas), close to the border with Texas (Cook 1958). We examined a female collected in the state of Jalisco.
Distribution. U.S.A. (Texas), Mexico (at the north of the State of Tamaulipas, Jalisco).
