Comments. Blanchard (1854) described a new genus and four species to the tribe Ortaliditas from Chile. The genus Ortalidina Blanchard, 1854 was erect to host the new species Ortalidina cellularis Blanchard, 1854, now into Chamaemyiidae (Gaimari, 2012) . Other three species were described to the genus Ortalis (= Seioptera): O. decorata and O. striolata, currently, into Tephritidae (Norrbom et al., 1999), and the reminiscent species O. picta (= Seioptera picta) into Ulidiidae .

Although, most of the type material from the work of Blanchard (1854) is hosted in MNHN, as the types of O. decorata and O. striolata, the type of O. picta was not found in the database of the MNHN Diptera´s collection (MNHN, 2024).
