Heza aurantia Maldonado, 1976

Heza aurantia was described based on several specimens from Trinidad (Maldonado 1976), with a recent additional record of the species from Ecuador (Swanson 2021). The four or five spined connexival segments, the vertical discal spines of hind lobe of pronotum arising from black spots and the general orange color (Fig. 23) are sufficient to diagnose this species (Maldonado 1976, Swanson 2021).
Distribution. Ecuador, French Guiana (new record), Trinidad.
Material examined. FRENCH GUIANA, Region Kaw, pk 28, attracted by light, 11.i.1997, leg. H. Gaspard, 1 male (MNRJ) .
