Distribution. Western Atlantic: USA (Swan Island, Florida), Bermuda, Bahamas, Jamaica, Honduras, Antigua, Guadeloupe, Isla de Aves, Martinique, Barbados, Trinidad, Isla de Margarita, Tortuga, Bonaire, Curaçao, Los Roques, Aruba, and Colombia (Rathbun 1897; Keith 1985; Poupin 2018).
Material examined. Barbados, Jordans, St. James, nearshore rubble, 13°14’48.24”N, 59°38’40.90”W, 1 Ô CW: 19.9 mm (BLSZ 036). Drill Hall, St. Michael, nearshore rubble, 13°04’36.30”N, 59°36’26.63”W, 1 ♀ CW: 16.5 mm (BLSZ 216) .
Remarks. Specimens of Platyactaea setigera were collected by hand in nearshore rubble habitat, under rock rubble, on the west coast of Barbados. Rathbun (1921: 71) reported specimens of Actaea setigera (one juvenile male, USNM 57988; one juvenile female, USNM 76718; one male, USNM 57989; one juvenile female, USNM 57987; one male, one juvenile female, USNM 76700; one juvenile male, USNM 69036; one male, four juveniles, USNM 76717; one male, three juveniles, USNM 76702; one juvenile, USNM 75153) collected in Barbados during the Barbados-Antigua Expedition in 1918. The Smithsonian-Hartford Expedition in 1937 also collected one specimen (one juvenile, USNM 75153) from Pelican Island Barbados.
